Born in Rouen (France) Pierre has lived in Australia for a decade. Initially willing to discover the beauty of the country, he decided to settle in Townsville with his little family.
Pierre is always happy to give a hand when he is available. He is currently volunteering a part of his spare time offering driving lessons to the teenagers in needs.
He enjoys reading, playing rugby union and petanque.
Born in Belgium, she moved to Belgian Congo when she was 2 years old.
She studied nursing and as such worked/travelled for years.
Gerda eventually arrived to Australia 43 years ago with her husband Eric and her 2 children.
She moved back to NQ after 15 years in Victoria.
Gerda enjoys gardening, her gym classes, and she volunteers at Day for Girls.
But her favorite thing is to spend time with her 3 grand daughters (and the rest of the family of course) without forgetting her 4 years old labradoodel.
Born in Collinsville, North Queensland, Barry attended school in Ayr.
He Graduated from the University of Queensland vet school, found employment with Queensland government and has been based in several
north Queensland towns before being transferred to Townsville.
Barry enjoys travelling to attend conferences, and playing golf. He is currently studying French as a UQ alumnus and hopes to visit
France again. Although often planning to leave, he has grown accustomed to the North Queensland lifestyle.
Born in Japan, Eiko has lived a part of her life in Switzerland where her daughter currently lives. She is a former chef who enjoys cooking and trying different food from all over the world.
Eiko enjoys walking her 2 little dogs and loves to do fitness workouts in her free time. She would love to visit New Caledonia in the future. She is looking forwards meeting the members and students of the Alliance.
Born in Lille (France), Jordan has done 2 internships with the Alliance Française de Townsville which enabled him to support his studies and finalise his Master Degree in French Language.
Jordan felt in love with Townsville’s lifestyle and tropical weather and decided to settle for good . He loves music, reading, discovering new places and bushwalking as well. Jordan enjoys tutoring the evening group classes and sharing his knowledge. He is very approachable and always happy to help.
